Compass

At Compass Bioinformatics we aim to bring internationally recognised bioinformatic quality to you with a personal connection. None of the data-goes-in -> spreadsheets-come-out that is common from some bioinformatic service providers which often leaves you without understanding or explanation. We want to discuss your needs and make sure you’re happy with the results along the way and at the end, whether this is data analysis, project planning, or bespoke training courses.

Projects are analysed and training is provided by either Dr Daniel Pass or Dr Katia Jindrich depending on where the best experience lies. However if your project lies outside of our fields, we also cultivate a close group of trusted expert bioinformaticians who may be more suitable to any specific project. We’re very happy to discuss the best way forward if your project has specific bespoke requirements.

Based in different cities across the United Kingdom, we are happy to talk and work with researchers globally either through online video-call or email, or in person locally or internationally (particularly if you wanted to hire for local courses).

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with anything you’d like to discuss at ask@CompassBioinformatics.co.uk or via the form below.

Our Core Bioinformaticians

Dr. Daniel Pass

Daniel has been analysing and working with *omics data since 2010 and teaching since 2012, having seen many technologies come and go. He primarily works with microbial and invertebrate species, or in bioinformatic pipelining with Nextflow, python & R.

Dr. Katia Jindrich

Katia is a chemist and molecular biologist by training, I am specifically interested in the genomic mechanisms that underpin evolution. Focussing on genomic and RNAseq (inc. scRNAseq) she has a wealth of experience in higher and non-modal eukaryotes across a range of bioinformatic platforms.
